The PQC4eMRD project participated in the "CompContinuum: Computing Continuum of Cloud, Edge, and IoT Technologies" Workshop (CompContinuum’26) https://www.hipeac.net/2026/krakow/#/program/8239/, organised at the HiPEAC Conference (https://www.hipeac.net) 2026 in Krakow, Poland.
The Workshop gathered together RISC-V related EU-funded projects across the entire computing continuum, such as Vitamin-V (https://www.vitamin-v.eu/), AERO (https://aero-project.eu/), OpenCUBE (https://horizon-opencube.eu/), HIGHER (https://www.higher-project.eu/) and RISER (https://www.riser-project.eu/).
In his presentation, Dr Leonidas Kosmidis, highlighted the ubiquitous need for Post Quantum Cryptography migration across the entire computing continuum, from cloud systems to edge and IoT systems. He covered the opportunity arising from the RISC-V open Instruction Set Architecture (ISA), which is supported by solutions in the entire computing continuum spectrum, and Europe to lead its standardisation. The presentation covered the special case of machine readable travel documents which have similar requirements with IoT and included the project contributions to standardisation in several RISC-V Task Groups.
