
Workshop on European Efforts for Post Quantum Cryptography Migration and Standardisation in Embedded Systems

With the advent and quick improvement of quantum computers, conventional cryptographic systems will become vulnerable in the near future, creating a high risk in security and privacy. For this reason, post quantum cryptographic schemes have been developed which impose new hardware and software requirements to existing and upcoming hardware. In addition, several government initiatives are under way to implement migration of conventional cryptographic systems to PQC, as well as PQC standardization. In particular, PQC migration is a priority of the European Commission, with several funded projects on this area. The purpose of the workshop is to gather these projects together to exchange and disseminate ideas and project results.

Dr. Leonidas Kosmidis
Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC)
Dr. Leonidas Kosmidis is the group leader of the HArdware Dependability for Embedded Systems (HADES) at BSC and faculty member at BSC. He is driving BSC’s efforts in the PQC4eMRTD project, and he is involved in RISC-V standardization, in particular in the PQC Task Group and in several Working Groups of the Security Horizontal Committee of RISC-V (high assurance crypto). He is currently serving as co-chair of the RISC-V RVM Profile TG.
Dr. Sergi Alcaide
Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC)
Dr. Sergi Alcaide is senior research engineer at BSC. He is driving BSC’s efforts in the SMARTY project. His research interests include PQC in automotive systems.
